With over 39 years as a Member of Local 362, Brother Haggarty initiated as a Teamster in 1985. In 1990, Brother Haggarty switched gears and embarked on an 18-year adventure as a Car-haul Driver with Auto Haul-away. Brother Haggarty’s career transition to Car-haul marked the beginning of increased involvement as a Member of Local 362, with him being elected as Shop Steward in 1994 and further participating in four rounds of negotiations for the renewal of the Western Canadian Council of Teamsters Car-haul Agreements.
In January 2008, Brother Haggarty was hired as Business Agent with Local 362. Throughout Brother Haggarty’s tenure as a Business Agent, he has represented a wide variety of companies with integrity, competence and pride. Brother Haggarty’s integrity, competence and charisma have translated into negotiating and ratifying over 50 Collective Agreements. Elected as Local 362’s Secretary Treasurer and Principal Officer in 2020, has reinforced and furthered strong long-lasting relationships with the Members of Local 362.
Brother Brown initiated as a Member of Local 362 in 2003, after starting his career working for Allied Systems as a Car-haul Driver. In 2005, Brother Brown was elected a Shop Steward by his fellow Sisters and Brothers working with Allied Systems and served as a Member of the Union Bargaining Committee for Jack Cooper.
In 2017, Brother Brown was hired by Local 362 as a Business Agent and elected President in 2020. Brother Brown continues to serve the best interest of all Members of Local 362 consistently and honourably.
Growing up in a Union household, Brother Hrycun is well experienced in representing the best interests of Members. Brother Hrycun initiated as a Member of Local 362 in 2008 as a Member of Local 362’s Construction and Pipeline Divisions. During Brother Hrycun’ s career on the Local Union’s Construction and Pipeline Divisions, he readily set goals to further his career by successfully obtaining his Class One Operators License, completion of a Journeyman Apprenticeship Program to operate a Boom Truck and became a Red Seal Concrete Finisher. Not only did Brother Hrycun embark on advanced career development, but he also became active within worksites representing his fellow Teamster Sisters and Brothers as a Shop Steward. As Brother Hrycun became more involved within Local 362, his ambition, strong work ethic and pride in being an advocate for fellow Members in the workplace were noticed by the Executives of Local 362. In January 2018, Brother Hrycun was hired as a Business Agent and Organizer, and elected Vice President in 2020. Since being hired in this role, Brother Hrycun has remained true to his core values, providing fair, solid and honest representation to all Members that he has had the pleasure of meeting.
With over 34 years as a Member of Teamsters Local 362, Brother Eagleson initiated in 1990 with United Parcel Service. In 1996 Brother Eagleson was elected as a Shop Steward after being recognized by his fellow Sisters and Brothers for his eagerness to stand up for their rights, which he has done since 2020 when he was elected by Membership as the Local Union’s Recording Secretary.
Sister Sherrie Richard became a Teamster in 2008 when she started her career as a Preboard Screening Officer at Edmonton International Airport working for Paladin Airport Security Services. In 2010, Sister Richard was elected a Shop Steward, further becoming a Training Specialist in 2011 and in the past 10 years has been part of three separate rounds of negotiations. Sister Richard believes in strength and solidarity through three strong values: education, integrity and transparency.
Brother Slyk is a proud second-generation Member of Local 362’s Construction and Pipeline Divisions, initiating in 1999. Throughout Brother Slyk’s 25 years of service, he has built strong and trustworthy relationships. Brother Slyk’s trustworthy personality naturally led him to become involved in representing and protecting the rights of his fellow Teamsters Sisters and Brothers on both the Construction and Pipeline Divisions.
Starting his career with Diversified Transportation in 2010, Brother Kadafi became more involved within his workplace shortly after initiating as a Member. Becoming a Shop Steward in 2015 and a Trustee of the Local Union in 2020. Brother Kadafi not only sought to ensure that Management was following the Collective Agreement, but he also wanted to be there to support his extended Teamster Family through thick and thin. With over 10 years as a Member, Brother Kadafi has taken part as an active Member of the Union’s Bargaining Committees. Brother Kadafi holds honesty and pride as his core values, and always sticks up for what is right, no matter how tense the situation.
